I know I’m an adult, but I read a lot of YA fiction (even if I didn’t enjoy them, I’d try to keep up with them.  I’m a teacher, and I like being able to talk to my students about reading).  The book box I get (Uppercase) sends out new YA books every month.  So far, I’ve loved them all, but here are my top 3. My Lady Jane by Brodi Ashton, Cynthia Hand, and Jodi Meadows This book was a delight.  Historical, hysterical, magical (sorry, I couldn’t think of another h word).  A consuming and fun read.  I can’t wait to go back forRead More →

In the midst of this election season, this history teacher/pop culture junkie would like to share with you her top 5 favorite TV politicians of all time. 5. Selina Meyer of Veep.  This woman is fantastic.  I mean, yes. She’s kind of inept. Hilariously so.  But she’s passionate and hysterical, and whenever I am dreading real-life politics, she is a train wreck that I can always watch and cheer myself up.Read More →

So without further ado, I’ve come up with my personal dream blogging incentives.Read More →

If you haven’t been following this blog, you don’t know that I am about to move for a new teaching job, and I’m about to start a whole new phase in my life. Because of that, I don’t have much time to blog. So this blog is like when your favorite TV show is on a break and you see a rerun. It’s a rerun blog. Enjoy some of my favorite posts I have made in the past. And hopefully I will return next week! My favorite fictional love stories (Part 1/???) The stages of going to a book sale… 4 Tips for Surviving anRead More →

Okay, so I am currently working on my fourth novel (and am hoping to publish the second soon), so I thought we’d play a game. Based on my three favorite songs on my writing playlist for this novel, what specific genre do you think my WIP falls under? Better Place by Rachel Platten – Simple and sweet. It’s enough to put me in a happy mood without being too much for me to focus on while I’m writing. Not Today by Imagine Dragons – I pick up songs from movies all the time. I’ve always been a fan of Imagine Dragons, and this is aRead More →
