I’ve been burnt out with my writing ever since National Novel Writing Month finished. I think it’s a combination of real-life stress and the sheer amount of work I did (50,000 words is a lot!). It’s been a struggle, but this last week, I have been forcing myself to write. And I need to keep reminding myself why. So without further ado, here are my reasons why I should FINISH my NaNoWriMo project:Read More →

I’m a teacher. As such, I like to read what my students read, and so I read a lot of Young Adult books (also, let’s be honest, YA books are awesome). I’m also a Broadway enthusiast, which you probably realize if you read this blog or know me at all. Today, I am combining those two and making a list of the YA books I’d most like to see turned into Broadway musicals.Read More →

So I’m busy watching Roman Holiday right now, which, if you didn’t know, is currently in the works as a Broadway musical. Here are just a few reasons that I love it… The music. As a 12 year old, a lot of these songs were new to me. As an adult, they are songs that I recognize are some of the greatest ever written. I could listen to the soundtrack over and over again and not get sick of it. The actors. What a phenomenal cast. From the leads (how dreamy was Ewan McGregor?) to theRead More →

Hello fellow bloggers! After an unexpectedly long summer hiatus, I am back! And better than ever. Even dealing with a heat wave and no AC. I’ll be back with real blogs next week, so what topics would you like to see? And how was your summer?Read More →

So this is going to be my last blog for a few weeks (I’ll be back). I’m leaving for vacation in a week, and things are going to be hectic. Feel free to follow me over on Twitter (@edohertyauthor) for all of the vacation fun. Where am I going, you ask? DISNEY WORLD. It’s pretty much my favorite place, and I am insanely excited. So for today’s blog, I thought that I would rank my five favorite Disney stage musicals.  For the record, I love them all. But these ones hold special places in my heart. (NOTE: I have NOT seen all of these onRead More →
