My Top 5 Favorite TV Politicians of All-Time

In the midst of this election season, this history teacher/pop culture junkie would like to share with you her top 5 favorite TV politicians of all time.

5. Selina Meyer of Veep This woman is fantastic.  I mean, yes. She’s kind of inept. Hilariously so.  But she’s passionate and hysterical, and whenever I am dreading real-life politics, she is a train wreck that I can always watch and cheer myself up.

An average to-do list (Today’s)

Another list by Elizabeth Doherty (yes, this is what today’s to-do list looks like… with commentary)

  • Get ready for work tomorrow (I can’t be the only one who gets their clothes and stuff ready beforehand, right?  It means I get to sleep in!)
  • Check celebrity gossip sights (It’s research, okay?!  Kind of.  Maybe a little bit.  Okay, it’s just fun.)
  • The Policeman’s Ball (My goal is to get my first novel published this summer, but it needs revision.  I’m on my first of at least two revisions, and it’s hard.  I wanted to get four chapters done tonight.  Maybe I’ll just do two.  I’m so tired.)
  • The Walking Dead (Have to finish my rewatch so I can cross it off my list and start something new.  The Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt maybe???)
  • Steam eyes (I’ve been having some trouble with them.  My doctor told me to do this.  My grandma had eye problems SO I AM TERRIFIED.)
  • Write blog (Can they tell I only update these things on Tuesdays?  It’s my light day!  I can’t help it!)
  • 10,000 steps (Why haven’t I hit that goal yet?  And how am I going to do that in an apartment?)

I make one of these every day.  Can you tell why I lovehate lists?

Summer

I thought about writing a post about the awful week I’ve had.  Between grown-up decisions and research and dealing with crazy parents at the summer job, I needed to vent.  But a part of me doesn’t want to dwell.  It’s over and done.  And good things are happening.

So.  Instead of venting, I present to you: Reasons I love summer (in no particular order)

  1. Ice cream
  2. Sun
  3. Warm days (although the northeast gets a little humid for me)
  4. Blockbuster movies (here I come Ant Man)
  5. More time to read
  6. More time to exercise (when I can drag myself)
  7. Hamburgers
  8. Patio dining
  9. Ice cream (yes, again)
  10. Driving with the sunroof open
  11. Time with friends
  12. My birthday!

What do you love about summer?
