I know this isn’t the most popular opinion in the world, but I love the Ghostbusters remake. It makes me laugh, and the cast is amazing. So in honor of Halloween, I’ve decided to dreamcast a Broadway musical cast of the 2016 Ghostbusters movie.
Jessie Mueller as Erin – Mueller is one of the most versatile actresses on Broadway, going from serious (Carousel) to comedy (also Carousel) in a heartbeat. I think she’d have Wiig’s vulnerability down.
Keala Settle as Abby – I personally remember Settle best for her hilarious turn in Les Miserables a few years ago. She’d kill all of the comedic moment in a way that didn’t completely mimic Melissa McCarthy.
Jenn Colella as Holtzmann – I have loved Colella for YEARS, and Holtzmann is my favorite character. This just seemed like a perfect fit.
Merle Dandridge as Patty – I saw Dandridge in Rent, and she exuded power. I’ve heard she was hysterical as the Lady of the Lake in Spamalot. Put the two together, and I think she’d be an awesome successor to Leslie Jones.
