Here me out! I think Game of Thrones would be an amazing musical (I might be going through Game of Thrones withdrawal). I know that all of the Game of Thrones musicals out there are parodies, and there are WAAAAAAY too many movie-based musicals out there now, but I think Game of Thrones, particularly the first book/series, could potentially soar above the rest (with the right writers, of course). Here’s why:

I’m sure I’m not the only romance author out there living for Prince Harry’s engagement to Meghan Markle. I mean, it’s practically right out of a novel. In fact, it echoes one of my favorite novels in many ways, The Royal We, by Heather Cocks and Jessica Morgan. (Have you read it yet? If not, please do. Let’s talk about it.) So for today’s blog, I thought I’d combine two of my favorite things: The Royal We and Broadway Dreamcasts.
So if they were to make The Royal We into a Broadway show (which they should), here’s who I’d want to see cast (NOTE: I am casting slightly on the older side because of the number of years the book covers and because people usually read slightly younger onstage).
So I’m busy watching Roman Holiday right now, which, if you didn’t know, is currently in the works as a Broadway musical. Brief Encounter, Sunset Boulevard, and many other Hollywood classics have found their way onto the Broadway stage. So it got me thinking. What old Hollywood films would I like to see as Broadway musicals? Here are just a few…
I know this isn’t the most popular opinion in the world, but I love the Ghostbusters remake. It makes me laugh, and the cast is amazing. So in honor of Halloween, I’ve decided to dreamcast a Broadway musical cast of the 2016 Ghostbusters movie.
Hello fellow bloggers!
After an unexpectedly long summer hiatus, I am back! And better than ever. Even dealing with a heat wave and no AC.
I’ll be back with real blogs next week, so what topics would you like to see?
And how was your summer?
So this is going to be my last blog for a few weeks (I’ll be back). I’m leaving for vacation in a week, and things are going to be hectic. Feel free to follow me over on Twitter (@edohertyauthor) for all of the vacation fun.
So for future blogging content, I would like to do more Broadway dreamcasts. Think hypothetical revivals as well as movies turned into musicals. Some things I have on the docket:
- The Help
- Murder Ballad
- Dirty Rotten Scoundrels
- Moulin Rouge
What hypothetical musicals would you like to see dreamcast?
Who doesn’t love a good movie star Chris? I know I do. On my way to work today, I thought about how sad it is that none of these Chrises have ever been on Broadway (though that is changing soon), so I brainstormed and came up with my dream roles for each of them.
