I’m back! Summer break is over and it’s officially fall for all of the students and teachers going back to school. For those of you who don’t know, my day job has me teaching history to middle schoolers. And though I miss my summer break fiercely, there are some reasons I’m excited to be back.

1) The kids – I love working with kids. They’re creative and smart and funny, and I love helping them learn. There are bad days with them all the time, but the good outweighs the bad. I’m lucky I get to do this.

2) More time for audiobooks – Last year, I really got into audiobooks. Now that I am driving back and forth to work every day, I get more time to listen to my audiobooks every day. TBR list, here I come!

3) Routine – Listen, I struggle without routine. I don’t get much done if I’m left to my own devices. Being back at school gets me back into my daily routine. Though I’m more tired at the end of the day, I feel like I get more done.

4) Seeing more people – I become a hermit during the summer. It’s nice to get back into the swing of talking to coworkers and students and enjoying their company.
